William F. "Bill” Pons, 88, of Coraopolis, Moon Township, formerly of Maryland, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024, in Good Samaritan Hospice.
Bill was born on August 22, 1935, in Baltimore Maryland, a son of the late Francis William and Emma Kluge Pons.
Mr. Pons was a retired Air Force Veteran. Bill was very proud of his time in the service and honored to serve his country for many of years. Bill made a career of his time in the Air Force working as a flight engineer. After his time in the service, Bill remained very connected to his fellow service brothers, as he was very active in his local VFW and American Legion in Coraopolis. In his free time, Bill loved going fishing. He would often spend a week fishing with his friend at his camp.
One part of life that Bill cherished was his time with his family. He was very fortunate to marry the love of his life Sheila. The two spent 49 wonderful years together. They filled their lives with so much laughter, love and many trips to her home country, England. They loved traveling back home to England to visit Shelia’s family, it was such a special time for the two of them.
Surviving is his loving wife, Sheila Guess Pons, children, Steve (LeeAnn) Pons and Lisa (Charles) Aguilar, grandchildren, Gregory, Annmarie, Daniel, Michael, Sarah and Nicole, great grandchildren, Christopher, Madison, and Phoenix.
Along with his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his sons, Christopher Pons and David Pons.
